January 2009 - The ladies who clean the rooms couldnt have been more helpful. The vegetarian lasagne was the best i have ever had! Also continental breakfast was well prepared eg ice cubes in the orange juice.

September 2008 - There is a lovely atmosphere in the hotel.  Undoubtedly it is created by ALL the staff, no matter what their position for they are pleasant to each other and to the guests.  The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and the food is delicious and beautifully presented.  The chef's a gem! What more can I say? I'd definately recommend the Lord Hill Hotel to my friends and should we ever stay in Shrewsbury again we'll most certainly hope to come here

Septmeber 2008 - 5* service. All staff charming and helpful-seemed like a really happy team!

I am writing to thank you and your staff for the fabulous buffet and service you provided on 14th April. It was my Mothers funeral-a traumatic experience but you all made a superb meal. The surroundings, courtesy of staff and relaxing atmosphere made it a family time to remember. My Mothers absolute favourite thing to eat if i took her out was scones, jam and cream. The first thing my Grandson said when he saw the buffet was 'Nana would have loved this!' You were all brilliant and once again i can't thank you enough for making it a most beautiful afternoon!

We are writing to thank you for the lovely dinner you made us yesterday. Everyone loved the food, not one person said they did not like the food. I personally think it is the best restaurant I have ever been to. The drinks were very refreshing for us after all of the protesting we'd been doing at Shirehall, to urge them not to close rural schools. Once again thank you for the food. It is not easy to cook food in such short notice. 

 We are writing to you to thank you for the fantastic food and you served us very fast, there was about fifty people there. So if we didn't come to you we would have to go home early to eat, and we wouldn't have been interviewed by the BBC and Newsround. Thank you again, we really appreciated you and your staff. Thank you very much for all the hard work you put into making my Daughter's 21st Birthday Party the best ever! From the day we booked the party till the very end. Thank you for the manager and all the boy's help on the night, you were all wonderful!

Just a note to say thank you kate for looking after us so well, when we were celebrating our joint 60th Birthday Bash. We hope that everything was ok from your point of views. The staff were both helpful and tolerant when the family invaded with preperations in the morning and throughout the proceedings. There were many compliments about the food, so thank you very much for everything. We also appreciated your co-operation about the Fairtrade requirements we placed upon you. We had a wonderful memorable day and we're pretty sure our guests did too!

Thank you for all your arrangements for another very enjoyable and successful Luncheon for our local Branch of RAEC Association. We were very well looked after by all the various members of your staff, especially as there was also a large Rotary Club Lunch and several other smaller group functions taking place. Our members all appreciated the fact that the Conservatory was available again for the lunch; the room itself and the layout of the tables looked most attractive as we entered it. As our members left afterwards they all commented that it had been a very good occasion with an excellent meal enjoyed in a most attractive setting. They all want to repeat the occasion again next year! Would you please pass on my thanks to Kate Roberts for all her help in the planning of the arrangements; our appreciation to the Chef and Kitchen staff for producing such an excellent meal; and to the Restaurant staff for their efficiency in serving the meal and generally looking after us. From our point of view it was a very happy and successful occasion as some of our members had travelled quite long distances, sometimes by train. They all said that they had had a very good day with the opportunity to meet up again with old friends from past years, and had been able to enjoy it all with such a good meal and in such a nice and relaxed surroundings-and even the weather was kind to us. What can i say? Another dinner has gone by and it was, once again, a huge success. There is no doubt that it is down entirely to the excellenct service we receive not only from you but also from the rest of your staff, who all worked tirelessly to ensure thet the evening went off without a hitch. We wanted to put down in writing our great thanks to you all for making our Wedding Day a fairy tale come true. We're sure all couples believe their wedding is like a fairy tale, but from the moment we booked our big day at the Lord Hill to the moment it ended, your hardwork, proffessionalism, dedication and care gave us our dream come true. We write on behalf of our parents to say thank you for the wonderful day we all enjoyed on Sunday 21st September, when they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. The day has been talked about so much since. Mum and Dad had often spoken of how impressed they were with the way your staff carried out their duties on that wonderful day, their impeccable professionalism and kindness. Nothing was to much trouble, from the very first visit when the day was booked until the time everyone left that afternoon. The food was outstanding, everyone who had the Roast Beef on that day has commented on how succulant the meat was but the main talking point has been the size of the Yorkshire Puddings. The look of absolute astoinshment on our Fathers face will remain in our memories forever. Every meal that was eaten on that day was suberb and our compliments go to your Chef and Staff. We offer a special thank you to Kate who helped us to co-ordinate the menus and place settings. There were emails flying backwards and forwards as the big day grew even closer. Once again a big thank you on our parents behalf, we are only to sorry that Dad will not be able to join us in future but we're sure he will be with us in other ways. When anyone asks us if we know of a venue for a party or special lunch we will have no hesitation in recommending the Lord Hill to family and friends who are looking for somewhere for their celebration.

Just a note to say thank you for coordinating and helping us to organise our Wedding Reception for us. We had such a wonderful day and we all enjoyed ourselves. The food was lovely and the service was good-from the initial booking with you, right through to the big day. Thanks again to all those involved.

I would just like to say how pleased we were with the service etc received on Sat 6th Sept. Mark and His team did a 1st class job, very proffessional, no fuss or problem, just did it. Hot, good food was served expertly. We have had various functions with the Lord Hill over the years; all value for money and reliable quality of service, but also very very enjoyable

Thank you for making our Golden Wedding Luncheon such a delightful occasion, and a memorable one. We have received so many phone calls and letters from guests particularly commenting upon the delicious foods. Former residents of Shrewsbury who have moved away were very impressed with the Lord Hill-"a wonderful venue" they said. Thank you for your courtesy and professionalism in meeting our celebration perfect in every detail.

I am writing to thank you and your staff for helping to make our Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration Meal so successful. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had many favourable comments from our guests. The service was good and efficient with Terry's cheerful and attentive care making the whole evening relaxed and happy. We also found the Reception Staff (particularly Jenny) helpful and efficient in organising the evening. Thank you once again.

 On behalf of Shrewsbury Rugby Club and their guests I would like to give my thanks to you and your staff for an excellent Centennial Dinner. I apologise for the fact that we did not sit down at the appointed hour, and my compliments to the Chef for being able to produce a superb fish course in spite of the late sitting. The food was excellent as was the service, and your Manageress most helpful when we suddenly realised you were running short on time. I hope her Majesty the Queen will not be informed that we forgot about the royal toast, and went straight into the speeches. Again many thanks on behalf of the club and their guests.

I just wanted to drop you a quick line to thank you and all the staff for an excellent event on Sunday 22nd Oct. It makes a refreshing change to attend an event where the exhibitors feel just as valued as the guests. I was very pleased how well organised and attended the event was and i have already taken some bookings as a result. Many thanks once again.

I would like to thank you supporting the Charity Event on Saturday 24thth January 2009. The feedback has been overwhelmingly good, full of praise for you and your staff. The meal was good and the DISCO was great too! The Committee are unanimous in there appreciation of your suppirt. We rasied over £300.00 for this local charity, and if it wasn't for the generosity of people like you, then this non-profit making registered charity would cease to function. I very much enjoyed speaking to you and Ray and his wife immensely. It was very refreshing having the unequivocal support.
